Since 1962, the Melbourne Cup has been synonymous with fashion and Fashions on the Field. Male or female, this is your chance to dress up for a Day at the Races.
What will I wear?
Suits for men, smart day wear or cocktail dress for women with a hat or fascinator.
If you’re getting more technical than that, punters.com.au says that Melbourne Cup Day is “the ultimate time to wear the boldest and loudest dress in your wardrobe where the crowds are often seen in bright colors with an excess of accessories. Go all out with your highest heels, most impressive dress, and largest hat to make for a fun time in an outfit that will be hard to forget.”
But most importantly, the Tabcorp Saigon Cup is about fun. You can do all or some of the above. Or you may prefer to have a bit more fun – perhaps dress up in your favourite jockey silks! Be limited only by your imagination.
Also, being the inaugural year, as organisers, we don’t want to be too prescriptive. We’re interested to see the “goat track” that will be made by guests. Guests will vote with their feet for their preferred dress code for the Tabcorp Saigon Cup.
